Early Years Literacy for Children with Down Syndrome

AIMS:

• To provide strategies to support language development in children with Down Syndrome in the Early Years;
• To provide an understanding of the specific challenges children with Down Syndrome face in learning to read;
• To provide strategies to begin to overcome these specific challenges;
• To introduce the Match/Select/Name approach to reading.
