Date: Thursday 26th November 2026
Time: 3.45 - 4.30 p.m.
Presenters: Brenda Mullan and John-Michael Greeves, Clifton Special School
Join colleagues from Clifton Special School, winners of the Special School Category in the ICT Excellence Awards, as they share how innovative use of digital technologies and Generative AI is transforming learning for pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties. Building on an established culture of digital innovation, the school has developed its pioneering RISE Digital Innovation Pathway, creating opportunities for pupils to communicate, create, participate and express themselves with increasing independence and confidence.
This webinar will explore how Clifton has harnessed the potential of technology to place pupil voice and choice at the centre of learning. Participants will gain insight into the school's innovative Autonomy Engine, an internally designed solution that enables pupils to make meaningful choices which are transformed into prompts for AI tools, allowing them to create artwork, music, stories and other digital content. This approach has shifted learning from teacher-led experiences to pupil-driven opportunities, empowering learners to take greater ownership of their creativity and communication.
