Training Aim:
This Professional Learning & Development Programme provides an introduction to the Team Teach approach for staff working within Specialist Provision. It aims to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required to understand behaviour as communication, promote positive relationships, reduce risk and respond safely and consistently to distressed behaviours using person-centred and relationship-based approaches.
Course Structure/Content:
This session has been specifically structured to:
Develop an understanding of the values and principles that underpin the Team Teach approach.
Explore behaviour as communication and the factors that influence distressed behaviours.
Develop confidence in using proactive strategies to reduce risk and de-escalate situations.
Promote consistent, relationship-based responses that support the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved.
Introduce the Team Teach framework, including personal safety and proportionate responses appropriate to the Level 1 programme.
