TPL Thursdays! - Planning for Successful Personalised and Inclusive Learning in a Special School Setting

Date:  Thursday 11th December 2025

Time:  3.45 - 4.30 p.m.

Presenter:  Nuala McGranaghan - Cedar Lodge Special School

This session in the TPL Thursdays! series explores how planning in special school settings is thoughtfully adapted to meet a wide range of cognitive, emotional and physical needs. Through practical examples and professional insights, we'll examine how personalised and inclusive planning supports meaningful learning experiences for every pupil. Key areas of focus include:

  • Adapting planning to support diverse learner profiles;
  • Using LIPs, EHCPs and differentiated pathways to guide learning;
  • Aligning planning with the Northern Ireland Curriculum (NIC);
  • Co-planning with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and care;
  • Reflections on how mainstream schools can learn from special school practice.

This webinar is ideal for educators in special and mainstream settings who are committed to inclusive, responsive and learner-centred planning.
