Presenter: Judith Morgan - Education Manager for Curriculum and Assessment, CCEA
Why has wellbeing become such a prominent feature of educational policy and practice? How does it fit within the wider purposes of education? What does the evidence tell us?
Drawing on research and the Northern Ireland policy context this session, led by Judith Morgan from CCEA, explores why wellbeing has become such a prominent feature of educational policy and practice and what research tells us about the relationship between wellbeing and learning, including the role of belonging and engagement. It shows how these ideas are reflected in the curriculum, school ethos and everyday classroom practice. The session explores how schools support wellbeing and learning through the learning experiences, relationships and opportunities they provide for children and young people.
