Professional Learning and Development Programme for Classroom Assistants - Post Primary

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN EXPRESSION OF INTEREST ONLY

Aim:

This Professional Learning & Development Programme aims to provide classroom assistants, in a Post Primary Specialist Provision, with an opportunity to explore how to implement a wide range of strategies to support  Primary pupils with SEN, within the classroom.

Structure/Content:

This programme has been specifically structured into the following modules to support Post Primary Specialist Provision staff in the areas of:

• Physical Structure
• Visual Schedules
• Developing Activity Systems to Promote Pupil Independence
• Visual Supports
• Inclusion & Wellbeing
• Developing Language and Fine Motor Skills through Play Dough
• Developing Social Skills through Lego
• Promoting Social Communication Skills
