Professional Learning and Development for Classroom Assistants - Early Years / Foundation Stage

AIM:

This Professional Learning & Development Programme aims to provide classroom assistants, in an Early Years Specialist Provision, with an opportunity to explore how to implement a wide range of strategies to support Early Years pupils with SEN, within the classroom.

Structure/Content

This programme has been specifically structured into the following modules to support Early Years/Foundation Specialist Provision staff in the areas of:

1) Physical Structure in a Specialist Provision

2) Visual Schedules in a Specialist Provision

3) Play Skills in a Specialist Provision 

4) Promoting Independence in a Specialist Provision

5) Visual Supports in a Specialist Provision

6) Promoting Positive Behaviour in a Specialist Provision

7) Promoting Social Skills & Friendships in a Specialist Provision 

7a) Developing Social Skills Through Duplo in a Specialist Provision

7b) Developing Language and Fine Motor Skills through Playdough in a Specialist Provision 

8) Promoting Attention, Listening & Engagement in a Specialist Provision 

8a) Supporting Early Interaction skills in a Specialist Provision 

8b) Supporting the development of Attention and Listening Skills in a Specialist Provision

Day 1: 28th August 2025 - Antrim Board Centre - 9:30AM - 3:30PM

Day 2: 29th August 2025 - Antrim Board Centre - 9:30AM - 3:30PM

Day 3: 3rd October 2025 - Antrim Board Centre - 9:30AM - 3:30PM
