Setting Up a Specialist Provision - Early Years Classroom

Training Aim:

This Professional Learning & Development Programme aims to provide staff from Specialist Provisions with guidance on how to set up an Early Years Specialist Provision classroom and support them to meet the needs of each individual pupil.

Course Structure/Content:

This session outlines three important areas for Specialist Provsion staff to consider when setting up their classroom.

This Professional Learning & Development Programme aims to provide staff from Specialist Provisions  with guidance on how to set up an Post Primary Specialist Provision classroom and support them to meet the needs of each individual pupil.

Approach:
Course participants will learn through a delivered presentation, interactive discussions, and experiencing a simulated learning environment. Electronic resources will be available on completion of training.

Connecting & Caring Across the Whole School Community​

Aims: 

This Professional Learning & Development training is for Specialist Provisions in Mainstream Schools only. The focus of this training is to build staff confidence in responding effectively to a range of needs, particularly in relation to complex social, behavioural, emotional and wellbeing needs.

Training Aim: 

This Professional Learning & Development Programme aims to provide staff from Specialist Provisions with an understanding of the underlying factors which influence behaviour, and the positive impact of a supportive and nurturing environment.

This session aims to provide an opportunity to reflect on the importance of relationships and how we respond to pupils in a positive and supportive way.

Course Structure/Content:

This session has been specifically structured to:       

Consider the functions of behaviour and the potential  impacts on learning. Explore the importance of creating a supportive environment and the importance of relationships.  Consider de-escalation strategies and approaches, and how these can be incorporated into planning to meet pupil needs. Explore and plan for pupil self-regulation and highlight effective teaching techniques and resources to support within the classroom.

Discuss key legislation and resources in relation to SEND and outline the roles and responsibilities of staff.

Session 2:
Explore the self-evaluation and action planning process to reflect, identify and prioritise areas for improvement.

Session 3:
